Vol 9, No 5 (2011): Special Issue

Knowledge in Telecommunication Technologies and Optics 2010 & Research in Telecommunication Technologies 2010

Foreword about Miroslav Voznak and request to Autors of Advances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering journal:

"Communications technologies of the future will be more about communications of things than those of today. Naturally, the Internet will play a pivotal role, and I hold this view not only because Vint Cerf wanted to find his sock on the Internet. At the same time, the need for user ’s mobility will increase, in particular the mobility of management allowing for switching between different mobile technologies in operation. Cloud computing on the level of the servers with communication infrastructure providing services will be much more widespread. More emphasis will be put on security of developed solutions and their resistance against misuse and attacks."

Vol 9, No 4 (2011): December

Foreword about H. Gokhan Ilk and request to Autors of Advances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering journal:

"The future for speech processing applications lie in continuous speech recognition, where electronic devices understand what you say, know what you mean, and even talk back. That is practically artificial intelligence. When there’s something you need to do, speech recognition algorithms will understand your needs and sends a text to your friend, initiates a call to your mother or finds the shortest path to a desired destination. We will be able to see dramatic changes in our daily lives in the next ten years when applications become more popular. With respect to bioinformatics the ultimate goal is to have drugs for individuals. That is instead of commonly prescribed medicine we will have drugs and medicine suitable only for our individual specific DNA. The way we look at diagnosis and treatment in the health sector will also change dramatically in the next twenty years."

Foreword about Vladimir Vasinek, the member of the International Scientific Editorial Board of Advances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering journal:

"The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science as a one of the largest faculties at the VSB-Technical University Ostrava passes through a rapid advancement. This is derived from a large number of student how in full-time study, so in a part-time one. Extramural faculty advancement towards a growing number of inland students is limited at the present time and next faculty development can be oriented only in the direction of growing number of foreign student, students of doctoral studies and development of research activities."

Vol 9, No 1 (2011): March

Foreword about Milan Dado and history of Advances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering journal:

"We hope that the Faculty of Electrical Engineering together with the Technical University of Ostrava (VSB) will be able to include AEEE journal into international scientific indexed database. It will be the main appreciation for all people dealing with this journal at the present time. I hope it will contribute to new ideas for preparation of the future common projects in the international dimension and not only between our faculties."
