Foreword about Winai Jaikla, Associate Professor of the Department of Engineering Education, School of Industrial Education and Technology, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Thailand.

" There is a growing interest in modern analog signal processing systems to design and synthesize electronically adjustable analog circuits, including filters, sinusoidal oscillators, square or triangular wave generators, passive element simulators, memristors, and other components. Microcomputers or programmable devices are frequently employed to provide intelligent and autonomous control of circuits. Lately, there has been a significant increase in the use of active building blocks (ABB) for designing and synthesizing analog circuits. This phenomenon can be attributed to the notable benefits it provides in terms of simplicity, versatility, and flexibility. By combining an ABB with just a few passive components, such as capacitors or resistors, several analog circuits can be created that demonstrate outstanding efficiency characteristics. The analog circuits are synthesized, designed, and implemented on CMOS chips, which offer numerous benefits such as low power consumption, small size, low voltage operation, and fast speed. However, while taking into account the expense of producing chips, these CMOS circuits are deemed valuable for large-scale manufacturing. When designing analog circuits for a specific purpose or a small quantity, it is more advantageous to use commercially available integrated circuits. Despite the inclusion of this capability, it remains more cost-effective and convenient in comparison to chip manufacture. If you are interested, do not hesitate to contact me."
